This presentation provides an inside view of OsteoMed and a general understanding of the medical device industry.  Particular focus is on the various career paths offered, internal product development process and the challenges involved in bringing products to market that improve patient outcomes.  In addition to engineering employment opportunities, OsteoMed works closely with physicians to design, develop, use and measure the effectiveness of its products and the company also participates in relevant research projects around the world.  This presentation is relevant to anyone interested in medical devices and the three paths most often pursued by engineering students: 1) industry employment 2) engineering or other graduate studies/research and 3) medical school.
