The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded Reza Avazmohammadi, a postdoctoral fellow working with Professor Michael Sacks, a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (F32 grant).

Avazmohammadi received the grant for his research project "Adaptive remodeling of the right ventricle in response to pulmonary hypertension: toward physical understanding and modeling."

The purpose of the fellowship is to enhance the research training of promising postdoctoral candiates who have the potential to become productive, independent investigators in scientific health-related research fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH institutes and centers.
