David Miller, a postdoctoral research fellow working with Professor Andrew Dunn, is a first prize recipient of the Baxter Young Investigator Award for his work related to the visualization of blood flow during surgery.

Miller Baxter

Baxter’s Young Investigator Awards promote the development of therapies and medical innovations to make patients’ lives easier. Miller has won a cash prize of $2000 and the opportunity to visit Baxter to present his research.

The award will allow Miller to expand on his research. Miller is currently leading a clinical study with neurosurgeon Dr. Ramsey Ashour, an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Dell Medical School. The next step for Miller’s research is to demonstrate the purpose of the blood flow imaging device during neurosurgery. He will then compare it to the current standard of care for imaging blood flow called indocyanine green angiography.
