Tania Betancourt and Ajay Seth shared the Schlumberger Grand Award for technical papers they submitted for review (Nano/Micro/Bio and Computation & Simulation/Signal Processing/System Control, respectively). To arrive at this decision the top 13 papers were selected by review of peers and a faculty review committee. These authors were invited to present their papers at the conference. The papers were divided in to five categories and Ajay and Tania each won in their category and so had their papers presented to a combined panel of judges. The judges were unable to choose between the two and so elected that the award should be shared. Tania's best-in-category award in Nano/Micro/Bio is sponsored by Centaur Technology Inc. Ajay's best-in-category award in Computation & Simulation/Signal Processing/System Control is sponsored by Schlumberger and Freescale Semiconductor.
