The University of Texas at Austin's Department of Biomedical Engineering will host the Society for Biomaterials' Biomaterials Day, "Translational Research in Texas," on Friday, May 31, 2013.

The one-day symposium will enhance networking between academic, industrial, and governmental sectors and increase student exposure to exciting biomaterials research. The event will feature talks from experts in the fields of biomaterials and a poster competition for students and postdoctoral fellows.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Ali Khademhosseini, Harvard Medical School, Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and Brigham and Women's Hospital
  • Dr. Thomas Jozefiak, Genzyme Corp.
  • Dr. David Paniagua, Baylor College of Medicine
