Anna Sorace, an assistant professor of diagnostic medicine in the Dell Medical School and Department of Biomedical Engineering and member of the Center for Computational Oncology, has been awarded a Research Scholar Grant from the American Cancer Society.

Sorace is a member of the Center for Computational Oncology, directed by Biomedical Engineering Professor Thomas Yankeelov.

The four-year award supports investigator-initiated projects across the cancer research continuum. Sorace received the grant for her research application entitled "Quantitative imaging to personalize therapy in HER2+ breast cancer."

Sorace’s research focuses on multimodality imaging to improve detection, monitoring and therapy of diseases in both preclinical and clinical cancer research. Specifically, her research includes identifying quantitative imaging biomarkers for early response to breast cancer treatment and utilizing them to guide and improve drug delivery.
