Raiyan Zaman, who received her Ph.D in biomedical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011, has been selected to become an associate of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine Science Council Associates Mentorship Program.
Raiyan Zaman, who received her Ph.D in biomedical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011, has been selected to become an associate of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine Science Council Associates Mentorship Program.
She is one of just eight associates chosen to participate in this inaugural program and was selected for her commitment to and promise shown in the field of medical physics.
She will receive funding for travel costs to attend two AAPM annual meetings and will be matched with a mentor in the field.
Zaman is an American Heart Association postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford University School of Medicine where she developed a catheter-based imaging system to detect vulnerable plaques. As a doctoral student at The University of Texas at Austin she worked with Professors Grady Rylander and Ashley J. Welch.
