Department Hosts NAE Regional Meeting

The University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Cockrell School of Engineering are hosting the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Regional Meeting, "Engineering the Future of Health Care," on Thursday, April 7.

Renowned speakers and experts will discuss their latest results on advances in biomedical engineering as they relates to the future of health care. The meeting will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. George Georgiou, The University of Texas at Austin
  • Dr. Robert Langer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Department of Biomedical Engineering

According to the American Society of Engineering Education, The University of Texas at Austin ranked among the top five largest BME departments in the country. In October 2010, the department hosted the annual Biomedical Engineering Society Meeting, regarded as one of the most important biomedical engineering events in the nation for showcasing research.
