Research Focus

Biotechnology

Research Interests

Our group employs molecular biology and genetic approaches for the design and production of proteins with improved function and for the engineering of cellular physiology. Current research projects include:

  1. Development of new technologies to aid protein engineering and drug discovery;
  2. Engineering of therapeutic and diagnostic antibodies;
  3. Engineering of novel enzymes;
  4. The mechanism of oxidative protein folding in bacteria;
  5. Protein secretion pathways in bacteria;
  6. Regulation of RNA turnover;
  7. Biologically templated nanomaterials
