Prospective Students
Application Requirements
Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas is a very competitive degree program that accepts approximately 100 students for each incoming Fall class. These students are among the top of the top 10% students admitted to The University of Texas. To be competitive for admission to the Biomedical Engineering program a student needs to be very strong in the following areas:
- Class Rank
- SAT composite score
Incoming First Year students are ranked based on theirs scores in these areas and then the students at the top of this list are offered admittance to the Biomedical Engineering degree program.
Application Process

When transferring internally you will be competing for a spot against all other internal transfers. These decisions are made based solely on your University of Texas GPA. For this reason it is important that you strive more for a high GPA instead of a large number courses completed.
