The Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) recently awarded Bo Wang and Yun-Sheng Chen scholarships.
Wang, a biomedical engineering Ph.D. candidate working in Stanislav Emelianov’s lab, received a $2,000 Educational Scholarship in Optical Science and Engineering. Wang is working on the development and integration of advanced optical and ultrasound imaging techniques to identify and differentiate vulnerable arterial plaques. She has five peer-reviewed publications and one patent.
Yun-Sheng Chen, a graduate student in electrical and computer engineering working as a graduate research assistant in Stanislav Emelianov’s lab, received a $3,000 SPIE Scholarship in Optical Science and Engineering.
Wang and Chen were two of 137 recipients of scholarships from SPIE, an international optics and photonics society founded in 1955 to advance light-based technologies.
