Natasha Nehra, who graduated with her B.S. in biomedical engineering in 2022, was selected as an Optica Women Scholars recipient.

Nehra is part of the inaugural class of awardees from the Optica Foundation. She will receive $10,000 to assist with education expenses, a one-year Optica student membership, and mentorship opportunities.

As a student, she worked under the supervision of Sapun Parekh, an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, on the molecular organization and biophysics of soft matter using non-linear microscopy and label free imaging.

Nehra is working as a data scientist at Medtronic for the diabetes division and plans to pursue graduate school in the future.
