Zhifeng (Francis) Jing, a graduate student working in Pengyu Ren’s lab, recently received a University Graduate Continuing Fellowship for 2019-2020.

Jing, a fourth year graduate student. His research is focused on developing computational models to study proteins and nucleic acids. Applications of the models he is working on include the development of small-molecule and RNA therapeutics for cancer and diabetes. 

The award carries of stipend of $30,000. Graduate Continuing Fellowships support current graduate students enrolled at UT Austin. They are competitive and require a nomination from the department.
