Carolyn Bayer was recently informed she would receive the David Bruton, Jr. Graduate Fellowship for 2007.
The Bruton Student Endowment Fellowships were established by The University of Texas System Board of Regents for the benefit of The University of Texas at Austin in September 1991. Carolyn will receive a $1,000 stipend and be entitled to pay tuition and fees at in-state rates for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Jimmy Su has won a $1,000 Travel Grant from the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) to attend this summer's XXI ISB Congress in Taipei, Taiwan. Jimmy will give a podium presentation titled "Orbital Stability of Stochastic Limit Cycles in Passive Dynamic Walking" as part of a special invited symposium on "Quantifying Gait Stability."
Deanna Gates recently attended the Clinical Gait & Movement Analysis Society (GCMAS) meeting in Springfield, MA. She gave two presentations (one podium and one poster) on some of her recent work with Dr. Jonathan Dingwell. At this meeting, Deanna won a $150 student travel award and the $1,000 "Best Student Presentation" award. Deanna also found out that she had won a $2,194 ASB Graduate Student Grant-in-Aid from the American Society of Biomechanics.
