Areas of Responsibility

• Direct and oversee the interface between the Department and the Life-Sciences community including private industry, physicians, and medical institutions
• Maintain the BME Industry Affiliates Program
• Oversee the departmental External Advisory Committee membership and activities
• Oversee the Department ABET accreditation activities
• Serve as instructor for the BME 102 course
• Identify sponsors for senior design projects, assist with preparation and distribution of solicitation letters, and provide support, as needed, during project execution
• Assist with job placement for BME students
• Assist with planning the summer clinical internship program and identify additional summer clinical opportunities for students
• Assist with coordination of BMES 2010 events and activities
• Provide ongoing assistance to the Chairman to attain the goals of the Department and assist in the day-to-day management of the Department.
