Areas of Responsibility

• Responsible for the departmental computers and network; coordinates the work of personnel supporting these services
• Develops cost, time and performance tables for various IT projects
• Establishes standards for work assignments and develops necessary guidelines and procedures
• Interviews and hires new employees and student assistants for technical positions
• Liaison between department, College, and UT network operations, and surplus acquisition
• Meets with other managers to coordinate the accomplishment of inter-area network tasks
• Maintains all software licenses
• Consults with students with technical design of projects
• Manages the BME Checkout room
• Recommends computer, network, and other related equipment to meet BME requirements
