Download and install the ImageMagick software package from
here.
Download and install the CMU camera driver here.
After the camera driver is installed, make sure Windows is set up to use this driver. Under Windows XP, go to the
Device Manager (Right click on My Computer, go to Properties, and select Hardware tab) and make sure that the camera
is seen under Imaging Devices and is using the CMU camera driver. If the driver is not installed properly, the speckle
software will not work! (Note: if you are using multiple cameras with the same computer
you may have to install the driver with each camera plugged in.)
Download and install the speckle software from here.
Unzip the software and run the executable.
The software has 2 modes: live video mode and acquisition mode. In live video mode,
no data is saved and only the raw images (not speckle contrast) are displayed in real time. In acquisition
mode, the speckle contrast can be calculated, displayed and saved. You must click the stop button before
switching between modes.
The graph at the bottom of the control window shows the average speckle contrast in 3 user defined regions of interest.
To select the 3 regions, select the speckle contrast image window and press F1, F2, or F3. After pressing one of these keys,
you can define a region of interest.
