The Functional Optical Imaging Laboratory is focused on the development of advanced functional optical imaging techniques and application of these techniques to functional brain imaging. One of the techniques developed in the lab includes laser speckle contrast imaging for high resolution imaging of blood flow in the brain. The lab also does work on two photon and multispectral imaging. These various imaging techniqes are being used to study stroke, intraoperative imaging, migraine headache, as well as to investigate basic neuroscience questions
