Alex Chiu, a sophomore, has been awarded a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. As the first BME student to receive this scholarship, Chiu will have the opportunity to study abroad in Porto, Portugal and take International Perspectives on Biomedical Engineering Design with Dr. Mia Markey.
The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is open to U.S. citizen undergraduates eager to study or intern abroad. As a recipient, Chiu will have most of his Maymester expenses covered.
