Dr. Zaman selected for NAE Frontiers in Engineering Symposium

  Dr. Muhammad Zaman

Dr. Muhammad Zaman is one of a small number of young and promising researchers who have been selected to participate to the 2009 U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium of the National Academy of Engineering. The meeting, which is scheduled for September 10-12, in Irvine, California, will bring together a select group of the nation's outstanding young engineers (ages 30-45) from industry, academia, and government to discuss pioneering technical work and leading-edge research in various engineering fields and industry sectors.

Candidates must have demonstrated accomplishment in engineering research and technical work with recognizable contributions to advancing the frontiers of engineering. In addition, they must be interested in engineering developments in other fields and able to consider how advances, techniques, and approaches in those areas relate to the nominee's own field. Finally, they must possess the potential to be a future leader in the U.S. engineering endeavor. Dr. Zaman was selected among more than 1000 nominees by a committee of NAE members.

Please join the department in congratulating Dr. Zaman.
