BME grad students capture 2 of 3 American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery Student Research Grants

LonghornNarasimhan Rajaram and Jaesook Park have been recently informed that both will receive American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) Student Research Grants for 2008. This grant is designed to foster the development and use of lasers and other related technologies in medical and surgical applications. The selection process includes a thorough review of applications, and the best research projects will be given priority for funding. Three student research grants will be awarded in 2008 of up to $5,000.

Their projects are:

  • Jaesook: " Two-Photon Induced Photoluminescence Imaging of Cancers Using Gold Nanoshells"
  • Naras: " Effect of Pigment Packaging on Diffuse Reflectance Measurements from Tissue"
