Dr. Roy to receive Society For Biomaterials award

Dr. Krishnendu Roy has been awarded the Society For Biomaterials Young Investigator award for 2007. According to the Society for Biomaterials this award is intended to "recognize an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the field of biomaterials research within ten years following his/her terminal degree or formal training, but before achieving tenure". The award is scheduled to be presented in April 2007 at the Society For Biomaterials Annual Meeting and Exposition. Previous recipients include John Kao(Wisconsin), Andres Garcia (Georgia Tech), Richard Gemeinhart (Illinois), and our own Department's former PhD student Jennifer West (PhD UT 1994, now at Rice University).
The Young Investigator Award recipient receives:
- Certificate of award
- Partial travel support to the Society for Biomaterials 2007 Annual Meeting, April 18 - 21, 2007, Chicago, Illinois, USA
- Consideration for publication of paper in Journal of Biomedical Materials Research or Applied Biomaterials
