Brock Speaks at Prestigious 9th International Symposium on the Breast

Amy Brock speaking at symposium

Assistant professor Amy Brock gave an invited talk at the 9th International Symposium on the Breast, presented by the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation in Santa Monica, California in February.

The symposium is organized by Dr. Susan Love, a prominent breast surgeon and the author of Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book. Love has dedicated her professional life to the eradication of breast cancer and oversees an active research program centered on breast cancer cause and prevention.

Brock’s research focuses on identifying new, less drastic ways to treat abnormal cells and determining what triggers certain cells to become cancerous. She hopes to develop new interventions that can reverse the growth of malignant tumors early on and eliminate the need for invasive surgery and chemotherapy. Brock, and other symposium presenters, were hand chosen by Dr. Susan Love. The purpose of the symposium is to gather world-class researchers, clinicians, and advocates from multiple disciplines in an intimate think-tank environment to stimulate ideas, collaboration, seed-funding opportunities, and ultimately breakthroughs that will end breast cancer.
