Mechanisms of Cell Migration -- As part of her sabbatical research in our
lab, Dr. Sheller has studied the effects of electrical stimulation (via the
electrically conducting polymer, polypyrrole) on PC12 cells. In particular, she
has focused on how electrical stimulation affects the expression of the actin
severing protein, gelsolin (which has been shown to impact cell motility and
neurite outgrowth).
