Study Abroad
Our BME graduates will be working in a global economy that will require them to be able to relate to students and colleagues from all corners of the world. To be competitive in this global environment our students will need to have the skills to be able to create partnerships that span borders and transcend traditional physical limitations. To this end the BME department launched the Maymester program in 2006, offering required BME courses taught by BME faculty in a foreign venue.
In 2008 we will be offering Maymesters in Lille, France (BME 333T), Paris, France (BME 335), and Cambridge, England (BME 353). These unique, four and a half week long programs, allow BME students the opportunity to experience other cultures and interact with other people throughout the world while completing portions of their required curriculum. The tuition for these courses is included in the Spring semester tuition but students are still responsible for the costs of the program, generally between $2,500 - $4,700.
In 2009 only BME 353 will be offered by Dr. Diller in Cambridge. The other programs will resume in 2010 with their locations to be announced.
