Financial Aid

Research assistantships (RAs), fellowships, and teaching assistantships (TAs) are available for students pursuing doctoral degrees (and sometimes to students pursuing masters degrees).

U.S. citizens admitted to our Ph.D. program will receive a minimum stipend of $23,000. Students will also receive full coverage for tuition and fees ($5,000 value) and complete medical benefits ($7,500 value). The medical insurance package is comprehensive and is identical to that received by all the faculty and staff at The University of Texas at Austin. Contingent upon successful progress toward a Ph.D., students can expect continued RA support in future academic years.

Top candidates to our program will also be nominated for substantial supplementary fellowships ($2000 - $8000 per year on top of their base stipend) from the School of Engineering and University. Students will be notified of these additional awards if they are selected.
